Working Principles

  • Photoelectric Induction Principle: Some devices use photoelectric sensors to detect yarns. The photoelectric sensor consists of a light-emitting element and a receiving element. During the normal weaving process, the yarn passes between the sensors and blocks the light. When the yarn breaks, the light is no longer blocked, and the light signal received by the receiving element changes. This change is detected by the sensor, which generates an electrical signal and transmits it to the control system of the ribbon weaving machine. The control system determines the yarn breakage based on this signal and then issues an instruction to stop the weaving machine.
  • Mechanical Induction Principle: Other devices use mechanical means to sense yarn breakage. For example, the yarn pulls a triggering mechanism during normal operation. After the yarn breaks, the pulling force disappears, and the triggering mechanism moves under the action of springs or gravity. This movement triggers a microswitch, changing its state. The microswitch converts this state change into an electrical signal and sends it to the control unit of the ribbon weaving machine, causing the machine to stop running.

Components

  • Sensor Part (Photoelectric Induction Type)
    • Light-Emitting Element: Usually a light-emitting diode (LED), it emits stable light for detecting the presence of yarn. The wavelength of the light emitted varies according to the design and application scenarios of the sensor. Infrared light is common due to its strong penetration and anti-interference ability.
    • Receiving Element: Such as a photodiode or phototransistor, its function is to receive the light emitted by the light-emitting element. When the light is blocked or unblocked by the yarn, the electrical characteristics (such as current and voltage) of the receiving element change, thus realizing the detection of the yarn's state.
  • Triggering Mechanism (Mechanical Induction Type)
    • Tension Sensing Component: It can be a spring-loaded yarn clamping device or a small tension wheel. When the yarn is working normally, it exerts a certain pulling force on it, keeping it in a specific position. When the yarn breaks, the pulling force disappears, and it moves under the action of the spring force or its own gravity.
    • Microswitch: It is a sensitive electrical switch. When the triggering mechanism acts, it touches the microswitch, closing or opening its internal contacts, thereby changing the on-off state of the circuit and generating a signal that can be recognized by the control system of the ribbon weaving machine.
  • Control Unit: Whether it is a photoelectric induction type or a mechanical induction type, a control unit is required. This control unit is generally a small circuit board integrated with microprocessors, signal amplifiers, power management circuits, and other components. Its main function is to receive the signal from the sensor or microswitch, process the signal through amplification, filtering, etc., and then determine whether it is a yarn breakage signal according to the preset program. If it is a yarn breakage signal, the control unit will send a stop instruction to the motor control circuit of the ribbon weaving machine.
