Structure and Composition

  • Rolling Elements: They are the key components that enable the bearing to roll and carry loads. Common rolling elements include balls, cylindrical rollers, tapered rollers, and needle rollers. For the red long-shaft bearing of the ribbon weaving machine, the type and size of the rolling elements are selected according to the load and speed conditions that the bearing needs to withstand. For example, if it needs to bear a large radial load, cylindrical rollers or tapered rollers may be used as the rolling elements. If space is limited and the load requirement is not particularly high, needle rollers may be a suitable choice.
  • Inner and Outer Rings: The inner ring is usually fitted with the shaft and rotates with it, while the outer ring is installed on the bearing housing or other fixed components and remains stationary. The surfaces of both the inner and outer rings are precisely machined to have high hardness and smoothness, ensuring that the rolling elements can roll smoothly on their raceways and reducing friction and wear.
  • Cage: Its function is to evenly separate the rolling elements to prevent them from colliding and rubbing against each other, and to guide the rolling elements to roll on the correct track. The materials of the cage are usually metal (such as copper and steel) and non-metal (such as plastic and nylon). Metal cages have high strength and wear resistance and are suitable for high-load and high-speed applications. Non-metal cages have the advantages of light weight, low noise and good self-lubrication, and are often used in ribbon weaving machines with high requirements for noise and lubrication.
